Gymkhana
Gymkhana has finally made its way from Mayfair to Dubai. The London institution known for its private members’ club atmosphere and bold Indian cooking has opened its doors in Gate Village 7 at DIFC, spread across two floors.
The menu carries over the dishes that made it famous in London, including kid goat methi keema, aloo chaat, and tandoori masala lamb chops. But the Dubai outpost is not just a copy-and-paste job. There are exclusive additions here too, like pahadi chicken chops, wagyu sukka with bone marrow, tomato bharta, and a rasmalai dessert made with Emirati qishta. It is already open from Tuesday, September 1.

TATTU
TATTU is back in the sky. The modern Asian restaurant and lounge is reopening at Ciel Dubai Marina, occupying the 74th and 81st floors of the tallest hotel in the world. The setting is dramatic, the views are unavoidable, and the menu covers sushi, dim sum, and sharing plates.
For those who want to experience it without committing to a full dinner, there is a business lunch on weekdays for Dh148 and a sunset session at the House of Phoenix-inspired lounge for Dh145. The lounge is air-conditioned, which matters when you are eighty-one floors up. The restaurant opens at noon on weekdays and runs until midnight, extending to 1am on weekends. The lounge opens from 5pm, and live DJ sets are expected to join the lineup later in the year.
Le Guilan
Le Guilan is a new Persian restaurant opening in Downtown Dubai this month, and it is taking its design cues from a 20th-century manor house in northern Iran. The kitchen is focused on the traditions and recipes of that region, which gives it a slightly different angle from the more familiar Persian restaurants around the city. It also sits overlooking South Ridge Park, so the terrace should be a draw once the evenings cool down.
Scalini
Scalini is reopening at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach on September 1. The Italian restaurant at Restaurant Village has built a reliable following for its classic dishes and polished setting, and it is returning just in time for the social season. It will be open daily from noon until midnight, which makes it an easy choice for both long lunches and late dinners by the sea.
Noren
Noren is a new Japanese opening in JLT this September. The name refers to the traditional fabric curtain that hangs at the entrance of restaurants in Japan, and the space is being designed around cosy tables, a dedicated sushi counter, and a main grill. The island bar will be the place to sit if you want to watch the kitchen at work. Expect plates like chutoro, red miso-glazed bone marrow, and king crab with Hokkaido lemon butter. It feels like the kind of neighbourhood spot that could quietly become a regular hangout for anyone living around the cluster.
Shimmers
Shimmers is returning to Jumeirah Mina Al Salam in Madinat Jumeirah on September 15. The beachfront Greek and Mediterranean restaurant is one of the few places in the city where you can eat with actual sand between your toes and a direct view of the Burj Al Arab. It is relaxed, unpretentious, and exactly where you want to be on a Friday evening when the temperature finally drops. Dinner service runs daily from 5pm to 1am.
Pepe Cucina
Pepe Cucina is now officially open at Address Beach Resort in JBR, overlooking Ain Dubai. The Italian menu is built around comfort dishes: fried mozzarella, mushroom risotto, homemade meatballs, and fresh cannoli. It is not trying to reinvent anything. It is simply serving the kind of food that works when you are sitting by the water and do not want to overthink your order. Opening hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 4pm to midnight, and Friday to Sunday from 1pm to midnight.
Tasca
Tasca is reopening at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira on September 5. The Portuguese restaurant has a terrace that looks out over the Arabian Gulf, and the menu puts a modern spin on traditional dishes from Portugal.
